Just released is the March 2015 Costco Coupon Book. It will run from March 5th through March 29th. Clicking the link above will allow you to view, download, or print out the coupons. The reason there was a week break between the February coupon book and the March coupon book is that Costco likes the coupons to lineup with the months. The April coupon book will start April 9th. We post the ad early so that you can wait to buy items that will be on sale and you can plan your next shopping trip a little better. This is one of the longer Costco flyers at 17 pages long. There are quite a few interesting items in the March coupon book. First of all, there’s the Kirkland Signature diapers, which don’t go on sale very often. Another item that rarely gets discounted is the Honey Bunches of Oats. The Braun shaver is one of the best you can buy. It seems like every month there is one deli entree on coupon and this month that is the ravioli lasagna, which has been discounted once before. In my opinion it’s worth getting, although a little salty. As for myself, I likely won’t pickup anything. Also worth noting is that Chobani greek yogurt is on sale, which I’m excited about because my store hasn’t carried it in a while. The tire coupon is back to Bridgestone for this month and April.

Starting Thursday January 29th is the February 2015 Costco Coupon Book. It will run for 3.5 weeks through February 22nd. Clicking the link above will allow you to download, view, or print the coupon book. This early preview gives you the opportunity to plan your upcoming shopping trips, and to make sure you don’t buy something this week that will soon be on sale. This seems to be a rather boring coupon book this month. One deal that stands out is the Feit LED Utility Shop Light ($31.99). Another is the Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner, as well as the Harmonics Laminate Flooring. Huggies are not on sale very often, so if diapers are your thing that can be a good deal. As for myself, I’ll likely pick up some facial tissue (stupid colds!), as well as the Atlantic Salmon and the Baby Back Ribs. I’ve never purchased the ribs before, but I have a good recipe I’ve been wanting to try, so I might finally pull the trigger. The tire coupon is Michelin again, which means it should switch back to Bridgestone on March 4th. Read more to see a list of items in the coupon book. Any must buy items? The new January 2015 Costco Coupon Book starts next Tuesday, the 30th of December and runs through January 25th. Click the link above to view, download, or print the coupon book out. This will give you the opportunity to plan your upcoming shopping trips and wait to buy the items that will be going on sale next week. Click through to the February Coupon Book which starts next Thursday, on January 29th. It is strange for a coupon book to start on a Tuesday, but I imagine that might be because of Costco being closed on Thursday, which is when the coupon books have traditionally started. The general consensus says that the January coupons are slightly better than the December ones, but not by much. I’ve seen excitement over the Oral-B replacement brush heads, but that’s about it. As for myself, there’s really nothing that interests me. The tire coupon has switched back to Michelin for the next two months. One of the hottest Christmas items at Costco every year is the Prime Rib roast. There are not a lot of stores you can buy a full bone-in prime rib and Costco is one of them. They usually go on sale about two weeks before Christmas, and the tag says the shelf life is 5 days. The weekend before Christmas is the ideal time to buy it if you plan to make a roast for Christmas Eve or Christmas day. The problem is that the prime rib is really popular at Costco, and as soon as they are put out on the shelves they tend to go quickly. You might have to wait a little while for another batch to be packaged and put out.

Costco Prime Rib Roasts

There are two choices for the seasoned prime rib roast. There is USDA Choice and USDA Prime. The prime has a higher cost because it is the highest grade of beef, known for it’s marbling and tenderness, due to using younger cows. The prime sells for $16.99 per pound and the choice sells for $11.49 per pound. Looking back at my 2011 post on the Costco prime rib roast we can see that the Prime cut has stayed the same price while the Choice has gone up $1.50 per pound. The seasoning used is a steak rub with olive oil and the prime rib is stuffed with whole cloves of garlic. Costco suggests buying about 1 pound of prime rib per person for a dinner. The cheapest prime rib I saw for sale was around $85, which was a little under 8 pounds. If you’d like to see the cooking instructions click the image below. There are a few different Christmas trees at Costco this year. You can get a fresh cut noble fir at several locations, and pre-lit Christmas trees at all locations. The 2012 artificial Costco Christmas trees brought about the color choice trees, and now that is your only option. Color choice means you can choose whether you want the tree to be multi-colored or white, or you can have it alternate between the two. The prices have gone up a little bit, but are still very reasonable considering what you get. You also get a few less bulbs than in the past, probably to make up for the fact that the bulbs have both colors in them and therefore are more costly to make.

In a little bit of a surprise, the December 2014 Costco Coupon Book starts next Monday, the 24th of November. Clicking the link will allow you to view, download, or print the coupon book out. This early preview give you the opportunity to see what you want to hold off on buying until it comes on sale next week, and better plan out your upcoming shopping trips. The coupons will be valid from November 24th through December 24th, which is also about a week longer than Costco usually has them go for. The January 2015 coupon book starts on December 30th if you’d like to see that as well. This coupon book seems to start earlier than normal so it can encompass Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Thanksgiving weekend. There are three different Costco coupon books that will be running at the same time, the Pre-Holiday Savings Event which goes through December 1st, the Black Friday ad which goes through November 30th, and these coupons. With the exception of the Invicta Men’s Watch, I don’t really see much that would make good Christmas gifts. The mac and cheese could be good for a holiday party and the Ghirardelli squares can be good to put out during Christmas time, but that is about it. The Emergen-C and Airborne is good for those that get sick during the holidays as well. Overall, I find this coupon book very underwhelming. I don’t think there’s anything that I would be buying. The tire coupon is once again Bridgestone.

If you’ve bought something recently that goes on sale starting November 24th I’d recommend bringing your receipt into the store, going to membership, and asking for a price match. They’ll send you to the special cashier (first checkstand) to get your money refunded. If it’s been within two weeks you shouldn’t have an issue. If it’s been longer you may have to buy the item again and return it with the old receipt. Anything stand out to you in this coupon book or are you as underwhelmed as we are?

Black Friday 2014 Costco Coupon Book Ad Scan Cover

The three day Costco Black Friday 2014 weekend ad scan is now available. Clicking the link above will allow you to view and print the ad scan. The Black Friday deals will not only run on that Friday but also on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, it starts November 28th and runs through November 30th. There are three total deal sections in this ad scan. The first is the Black Friday ads that are valid in Costco stores. The second is the online only deals, which run from November 27th to December 1st and encompass Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Lastly, there are some additional savings for in-warehouse items from December 1st through December 14th. Don’t forget the Pre-Holiday Savings Event also will be running over that weekend as well.

Besides the fact that there isn’t a mad dash to get one of the two TV’s deeply discounted like at Wal-Mart, one exciting thing about Black Friday weekend at Costco is the annual cookbook giveaway. Starting Friday morning everyone who leaves Costco will get a free cookbook. By mid-day Saturday Costco is typically out of them, so it is quite a hot item. Look out for my cookbook giveaway here on the website as well!

There are a ton of good deals in the Black Friday 2014 Costco ad. I don’t have time to go over them all, so feel free to put a shoutout to what you like in the comments. The Google Chromecast is a great deal at $10 off, making it only $25 and you get $10 in Google Play credit in addition. The Nikon D3300 DSLR kit for $599 and the Sony A5000 for $449 are also good camera deals. The Blendtec 570 blender for $249 is a good deal if you don’t want to pay the extra needed to get a VitaMix. As for myself, I will likely get the kitchen bags, maybe a throw, and maybe the blu-ray player or the Chromecast.

As for the lack of TV deals expect another post with the unadvertised Black Friday TV deals, similar to last year. I think there are two reasons Costco does not advertise them. For one, they want to be able to negotiate with the vendors to get the lowest deals possible up to the last minute, and if they print deals way ahead of time they cannot change pricing. Secondly, they don’t want to have to compete with other stores on Black Friday weekend. They want the customers that know Costco has a good deal and a good warranty and that is enough for them.
