Tide Free and Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent Review

It can be overwhelming when you’re in Costco looking for laundry detergent and there are so many options. There’s often Tide, Kirkland Signature, ECOS, and more. Then, each brand has HE, Free and Clear, pods, liquid, powder, and more. What is the difference and what does it all mean? We’ll break it all down for you as well as give an honest review of the new to Costco Tide Free and Clear Liquid Laundry Detergent.

Tide laundry detergent is known for being the top brand. Several tests by Consumer Reports, Cnet, and more have confirmed Tide is the best at getting stains out compared to all other leading brands. Now that Costco is carrying it we figured it’d be a great time to review it and see if it’s as good as they say. Having a two year old (that loves to play with her food) leaves no shortage of stained clothing. Spaghetti sauce, ketchup, peanut butter, red wine (just kidding!), blueberry juice, and more are just some of the food stains we are constantly trying to get out of clothing, not to mention grass and dirt stains.

Our first impression was that Tide did a great job. All clothes came out extremely clean. We didn’t do a side-by-side comparison like the CNET article we linked to, but we were very happy with the results compared to the other detergents we’ve used before. Another reason we’ll be using this going forward is that we have another infant in the household now. Infants skin is generally very sensitive, which is where the Free and Gentle part comes in to play. This means it’s free of dyes and perfumes, which is very important for a 2 week old baby. The Tide Free and Gentle is dermatologist recommended, accepted by the National Eczema Association and recognized by the National Psoriasis Foundation. Anyone with sensitive skin or skin allergies should be using this type of laundry detergent. Tide Free and Gentle is considered hypoallergenic.

Over the years we’ve tried Kirkland Signature, ECOS, All, and other laundry detergents. After doing in-depth research for this article and our own testing we can comfortably say that Tide is the best laundry detergent out there. We’re excited Costco is now carrying the Tide Free and Gentle liquid laundry detergent. We definitely recommend looking for it next time you’re in the store. In short, with Tide Free and Gentle you get a deeper clean that is also gentle on skin. Costco April 2020 Coupon Book

Just like everything else in this world right now, the April 2020 Costco Coupon Book is changing as well. Since so many Costcos are having shortages and fluctuations on supplies they’ve decided to not send out a regular monthly coupon book. Instead there are special instant rebate coupons for various items. If you’d like to see the items that will be on sale starting April 15th then click the link above to see them all. The sales will last through May 10th, just like a regular Costco coupon book. Most members will receive a piece of mail with a QR code that when scanned from their phone will take them to the list of items on sale. We can’t say the April 2020 Costco Coupon Book is like anything we’ve seen before. However, it does have a lot of seasonal items to start. There is camping equipment and summer items, such as OFF! Bug Repellent, Cascade Mountain Tech Sleeping Pad, and plenty of allergy medicine. There seems to be an unusually high number of supplement/vitamin deals this month. There is not a single food item on sale, which makes sense considering so much food is selling out in stores due to people self quarantining for a long period of time. The tire deal is back to Michelin at $110 off.

Costco Coronavirus Covid-19 Updates

UPDATED 4/8/2020: We have compiled a list of all the policy changes Costco has made recently in an effort to keep its employees and members safe from Covid-19. As usual we were the first to bring you many of these stories via our Instagram page. If you’re not following us on there you’re missing a ton of good insider information. The summary of all the Costco Coronavirus changes are below:

Costco special access for healthcare workers and first responders

4/8/2020: Costco is now allowing healthcare workers and first responders to get priority access to the building temporarily. What this means is that they’ll be allowed to go to the front of the line to enter the warehouse. Official ID must be presented. First responders include EMT, police officers, and firefighters.

Costco limit on number of members allowed in per card

4/1/2020: Normally with a Costco membership you’re allowed to bring in two guests and any children. Now you’ll be limited to two people total allowed in with a Costco membership card. This is a temporary policy with no set end date. No longer can a family of 6 go into the store. This policy begins April 3rd.

Costco coronavirus scam circulates

3/29/2020: There are text messages going around saying that Costco is giving $130 in freebies to loyal Costco members due to the coronavirus. It asks you to fill out a customer survey. This is definitely a scam.

Costco changes operating hours temporarily

3/26/2020: Starting March 30th Costco changed their operating hours. The Costco coronavirus hours are changed so that Monday to Friday they now close at 6:30pm and on the weekends it’s 6pm. These reduced hours are partly due to the stores not being as busy during the coronavirus outbreak. This will help Costco save some labor costs. Considering Costco is usually really busy in the morning, with long lines before they open, it makes sense that it is quiet in the evening as they run out of toilet paper, water, and more.

Costco installs checkout shields

3/24/2020: The 6 foot tall plastic shields protect cashiers from potentially being sneezed or coughed on. If all of Costco’s cashiers were to get sick then they could not run a business, so it’s definitely in their best interest to keep them as safe as possible. This provides little to no interruption to the members shopping experience.

Costco implements special operating hours for Seniors

3/21/2020: Some locations started this earlier but it became an official Costco policy on 3/21/2020. It started out as Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 9am is when those over the age of 60 or those with physical disabilities will be allowed to exclusively shop. It has since been expanded to include Wednesdays as well. Some warehouses also allow those that are pregnant or those that are immunocompromised to shop as well, but that’s a case by case basis and it would be wise to call your local store ahead of time to ask. No guests will be admitted if they do not meet the criteria to enter.

There’s a lot to unpack in the March 2020 Costco Coupon Book. It starts out with SUN-sational savings of moisturizer and sunscreen. After that there’s a page of lawn and gardening care items by Miracle-Gro and Scotts (Turf Builder). Huggies Pull-Ups diapers are $7.50 off. For those that get spring allergies there are Zyrtec and Claritin deals that make a great time to stock up, as well as Breathe Right and Flonase for the nose. For those looking to stay clear of the Coronavirus there’s Softsoap Advanced Clean Liquid Hand Soap at $3 off. The Pots & Co Chocolate Fudge Lava Cake at $3 off is definitely the extra push needed to convince yourself to buy it. Bridgestone tires are back on sale this month and $110 off as usual.

Premier Protein with Oats Review

Premier Protein Shake with Oats is at Costco stores nationwide and we were able to do a full review and taste test for you before you buy. If you’re wondering whether you should try it, our review goes in depth on flavor, use cases, nutrition and more. You probably recognize the brand name and box, and it’s because Premier Protein has been in Costcos for a long time. The main differences are that this one comes with oats, is designed to be consumed both hot and cold, and is a new flavor — Apple Cinnamon. You can also read our review of the caramel flavored protein shake we did recently. In addition, it’s also now on sale with a $5 off Instant Rebate Coupon from 3/1/2021 through 3/28/2021!

Almost all protein shakes are designed to be consumed cold and Premier Protein conducted market research to come up with this ground breaking concept of heating it up. Having it hot really makes it a great breakfast go-to. In less than a minute you can have a breakfast addition that’s hot and gets you the protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals needed to help take on the day. The best part is that the flavor of Apple Cinnamon really pairs well with breakfast too.

When we began our review we were actually expecting oats to be floating in the shake. To our surprise it’s extremely smooth and creamy. There are no noticeable particles at all. It’s nice and light, making it easy to consume. The apple cinnamon flavor is a great combination of the two with neither being too overpowering.

On Costco.com there are already 40 reviews and it has a 4.6 star rating. Check out some of the comments:

Premier Protein Shake

The reason the oats were added was to increase the amount of fiber in the shake. Both fiber and protein take longer to digest. So we can now have this shake as part of breakfast at 150 calories and stay fuller longer. The 7g of fiber is 25% of the recommended daily value. Also great after a workout to get that full feeling and still get 20g of protein.

While prices vary slightly, the shakes come out to roughly $1.50 each for the 18 pack at Costco. We highly recommend picking up a box and giving it a try. Those that want a healthy lifestyle and to reach those health goals but find themselves struggling to find the time have an easy solution here with Premier Protein Shake with Oats. The February 2020 Costco Coupon Book has quite a diverse selection of items. The first thing to catch our eye right on the cover is the new Kirkland Signature Scented Kitchen trash bags. We’re definitely going to give them a try at $3 off. Huggies diapers are only on sale about twice per year, so make sure to stock up on those if you have little ones. We were surprised by the number of mattresses in the coupon book and would recommend the Molecule 1 Memory Foam mattress that is $150 off. We’re also excited to see Robert Irvine’s Fit Crunch Chocolate Peanut Butter Whey Protein Bars on sale for $5 off. For the second month in a row the Michelin tires are on sale for $110 off.

Costco Super Bowl TV Deals 2020

Every January there is a flyer of Costco Super Bowl TV Deals and we bring it to you first as always! The 2020 coupons will run from January 12th through February 2nd (the day of the Super Bowl). Clicking the link above will bring you right to the coupons so you can see all the deals and click on the pages to enlarge them. The Super Bowl TV Deals booklet also includes a few other items besides televisions such as sound bars, laptops, and appliances. Also keep in mind the January 2020 Costco Coupon Book is running during this same time, so there are even more deals to be had. The actual name of this coupon book is “Big Game Savings” due to copyright of the name Super Bowl but the idea behind it is that it’s the last seasonal sale on TVs before the most watched television broadcast of the year.

The Costco Super Bowl handout is packed with deals. There are three different LG OLED TV deals in it. There are 4 different Samsung QLED TVs on sale as well. In total we’re looking at 16 different Super Bowl TV Deals at Costco in this flyer alone. Having just picked up an LG OLED TV we can say we love it and highly recommend it despite the higher price compared to QLED. We also highly recommend pairing a SquareTrade warranty with your TV purchase as you will get 7 years total of warranty coverage. You get 2 years from Costco, 2 additional with your Costco Visa card and then 3 more from the SquareTrade warranty.
