In Frederick, MD, a woman went into Costco to buy some food, bedding, and treats for her dog. Meanwhile she allegedly left her dog in her car, where it likely reached 130 degrees internally (104 degrees outside). According to the Washington Post, “She intended to just be 15 minutes or so.” Apparently she hasn’t been shopping at Costco in a while, because there’s NO WAY she could get in and out of a Costco in 15 minutes. My shortest trip to Costco ever was probably half an hour.
It then gets worse. Upon returning to her car, she finds the dog dead and then immediately goes back in and returns the items she just bought. I’m all for using the return policy, but shouldn’t she have been just a little emotionally distressed at that moment? Thankfully one of the Costco employees called the Animal Control. Good work, Costco.

There was a shooting recently at a Costco in Summerlin, just outside of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Sun reports. Apparently the guy was acting strangely inside of Costco, allegedly damaging merchandise and in possession of a pistol. A Costco employee called 911 and got police to the scene. Customers were evacuated, and the suspect went out of the store with the rest of the customers. Police arrived at that time, ordered him to put his hands up, he reached for his weapon, and they shot and killed him. Unfortunately there were a lot of customers near the suspect, and someone could have easily been hit by a stray bullet. So in the future, if you see someone acting very weird inside of a Costco: stay away. Have you ever seen anyone acting strangely in a Costco? Did you report it to an employee or anything?

One of the staples I always buy from Costco is the Smucker’s Strawberry Lemonade. Unfortunately for me I haven’t been able to buy any for quite a while. That’s because it is a seasonal item, usually only around in the summer months. I tried to stock up last year, but apparently didn’t buy enough, because I ran out by December. If you haven’t tried it you should give it a shot, it makes a tasty and cheap drink. I am not a fan of drinking plain water. In my opinion, this Strawberry Lemonade is much better than the Country Time Lemonade they carry year-round. And if you do buy it and like it, make sure to stock up. I am thinking of buying 4 cans at the end of summer. Click here to get it right now!

To make room for the new Carne Asada bake, the Costco Food Court is taking out the turkey wrap. I’ve never tried one myself, but the reviews I have read online were not too positive. People claimed there was too much cheese, not enough sauce, and above all, it was pretty costly compared to other options. Did you ever try one? What did you think? One Kirkland Signature item I’d like to see in the food court is their spinach salad. It is amazing!

Costco now has Carne Asada Bakes (much like Chicken Bakes) in some of their test stores (such as Livermore, CA). I asked an employee about them and he said they were the best thing they’ve got in the food court. Hopefully it passes the initial test and rolls out to the rest of the Costcos. I’ll update you as I get more information.
Edit: Apparantly they come with carne asada, pico de gallo, guacamole, and melted cheese. Sounds really good, almost like a burrito. Here is a list of stores I know that carry the Carne Asada Bake so far:
