  1. RJ says:

Some jerk said the pizza was never on sale. Yet here it is.
I wonder if they jack the price up $1.50 to give us $2.50 off though ?

    • P. Nile Schwartz says:

What are you a moron? I did say that because it’s the first time in years, if ever, it’s been on sale. And only a moron would think that Costco would jack up the price.

      • RJ says:

Proven wrong & sore about it. I get it.

        • P. Nile Schwartz says:

wow, you’re pretty slow. You’d actually need to dig into the coupon archives to prove me wrong. Keep me posted when you find the frozen (not the crappy refrigerated, or crappy thin margarita) pizzas on sale.

Oh, and you should feel quite sore after seeing the sheer thoughtlessness and rudeness of implying that Costco would jack up the price of a coupon item.

          • RJ says:

I’m done playing in the mud with a child.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

so says the loser that doesn’t even understand debate, and comes out of nowhere to make an entirely stupid post.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

            P. Nile Schwartz: A non-academic internet ‘discussion’ is not a “debate”.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

No, it meets the definition: “a formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.” No need for academia.

So sad that someone comes here to engage in name-calling and insults of the greatest retailer in the US–Costco. Even sadder that you support such losers. I’ll urge Costco management to put dulcolax on sale for both of you.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

No, P.Nile, it’s an informal discussion. Not formal or academic; not a debate. You engaged in name calling. I address content.

          • RJ says:

            We need an ignore feature.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Next time, see if you can chime in with something other than insults and defamatory attacks on Costco.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

            P. Nile: Costco like most stores has pluses & minuses. Best plus is entering & shopping using Gift Cards (not needing to buy the membership card).

RJ: Yes agreed, however at this point we can simply ignore P.Nile Schwartz without using an embedded feature.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

the fact that you hold rj, likely your sockpuppet, in such high esteem doesn’t say much for you.

          • RJ says:

I feel like I should turn myself into Costco. I mean, since I am posting “defamatory attacks” and all. (Without knowing it)
            LOL

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

no, it’s laid out in an entirely organized manner. It was the op who engaged in name-calling, as well as attribution of nefarious intent to Costco. Glad I could educate you. No need to thank me–I’m a giver.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

No again P. Nile: RJ’s “op” while referring to a “jerk” did not state that you were the mentioned “jerk”. You didn’t even exist on this specific page at the time of RJ’s initial posting, so RJ didn’t engage in personal attack. You did initiate personal attacks with “moron” & “pretty slow”.

A debate needs at least 2 people choosing to debate, or entering a debate forum. This is a discussion. Your initiating personal attacks belongs in neither.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Actually, RJ initiated the personal attack by (absurdly) referring to someone who would request a pizza coupon as a ‘jerk’. Since I’m the only one that posted a request for a pizza coupon (and not for the inferior aforementioned excuses for pizza) it was clear whom he/she was attacking.

The ultimate irony is calling someone else a ‘jerk’ while then implying that Costco would jack up the price of a coupon item!!

Feel free to revert back to your other RJ account. I don’t care what people post, as long as it’s rational and not an uncalled for attack on other forum members; it’s unfortunate that RJ feels compelled to come out of left field with rude attacks.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

P.Nile: a reference by RJ to an unknown party who’s not part of the discussion here is not a personal attack. I see no request by you in this thread here for a “coupon” (at least definitely not prior to RJ’s post here) = your comment (alleged excuse) is neither understood or supported.

Stores do “jack up” prices at times on sales. Costco’s pricing on items can vary by location & does increase at times. I doubt you’re familiar with every item current price & pricing history at every location (or even changes in item weights which also affect consumer cost).

I am not “RJ”. I’ve never used any ‘alt’ account/name here, nor have I ever used any ‘sock puppet’ (or even ever bothered to learn such silly technology).

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

It was from a month or two ago. But since you don’t see it here, you should simultaneously admit that rj is a severe crank for calling someone a jerk from a post two months ago.

Costco has no history of jacking up prices at coupon time, thus RJ’s assertion was entirely ridiculous, and I’m not sure why someone would stop in unless to comment on the recent coupons.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

            P. Nile: I don’t connect the two; I don’t assume RJ’s comment refers to you. Definitely doesn’t mention you. I don’t have full context to further address that & you didn’t provide context & linkage in your reply to & personal attack on RJ.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

As the only one requesting a pizza coupon, it referred to me. But even had it referred to someone else, posting that such a request makes a person a ‘jerk’ is indeed a personal attack. Said attack along with attribution of nefariousness to Costco would indeed make a person a moron.

It’s actually quite bizarre to see the degree to which you’ll defend ‘RJ’.

          • RJ says:

Cant you just let it go ? All of it ?
Please provide a contact person at Costco so I can turn myself in in the event they want to take civil action against me for suggesting a retailer might raise prices.
Mountain out of a molehill already ?

          • RJ says:

I just unsubscribed to hopefully get away from the stalking by P Nile.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

don’t be a drama queen. It’s just a disqus thread, there’s no ‘unsubscribing’. That would be refraining from posting, not posting ‘I just unsubscribed to get away from someone I felt compelled to attack in my initial post’.

          • Dandelion says:

I think you both need to hydrate and eat some pizza, you sound hangry.

            It’s not that serious.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

            P. Nile: It’s actually more a case of noting your inappropriate assumptions & personal attack. RJ could’ve been referring to a totally different online situation or someone RJ knows or something RJ overheard somewhere.

At best your communication (which is read by all, not just RJ) was poorly stated & incomplete. At worst, it represented inaccurate assumption. Neither case justifies personal attack against RJ.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Incorrect, as I responded to a (now edited) comment by RJ in February making reference to the lack of pizza coupons, so while you can claim ignorance on the topic, RJ is aware of the exchange. RJ insisted on opening the conversation with personal insults as well as insults to Costco, both of which you find inexplicably (and suspiciously) charming.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

You initially made no reference/explanation to continuing a prior alleged discussion P. Nile. I said nothing about “charming”. You create things & thus lack credibility.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

RJ made reference to continuing the prior discussion. I have no need to address bystanders. By feeling the need to go the extra mile for a poster that initiates discussion with a personal attack, and also an attack on Costco, you’ve shown that you’re not credible and you’re devoid of class.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

P.Nile: Do you really believe the falsehoods you create in your mind? I’ve also gone no “extra mile”. No one “attack”ed Costco.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

again you’re exhibiting your entirely delusional state! It’s no wonder everyone thinks you’re nuts.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

“everyone” P.Nile? I represent myself. You think you represent “everyone”. Who’s “delusional” LOL?

I don’t memorize or use all Costco products & services. Perhaps they have mental health counseling for you? Or perhaps you can suggest it. I hope you get the help that you need.

Still seeing me in your delusions as an ‘alt’ of RJ?

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

It’s not delusional on my part, rather it’s bizarre and abnormal the degree to which you post in support of him referring to someone else as a jerk, and also in support of his venom towards America’s greatest retailer, Costco.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

Unlike you P.Nile, I’m neither supporting or attacking people; I’m addressing content without regard to who posts it. Also trying to help support you in suggesting you get help. Haven’t seen any “venom” in this thread towards Costco by anyone. Nothing close to “venom”.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

wow, you must not have seen RJ’s opening salvo. But regardless of RJ’s attack against me and against America’s greatest retailer, Costco, I’ll still be shopping at Costco, probably even tomorrow.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

There was no “salvo” by RJ. There was no “attack” against you (or COSTCO) initiated by RJ. You initiated personal attack P.Nile.

I agree that COSTCO is among America’s greatest retailers. Others are Trader Joe’s, Amazon, CVS, & to a lesser extent Walmart & Macys (especially for furniture).

          • RJ says:

I think we need to ignore the P. Nile rather than continuing to expose her mental illness.

I have never had a membership and never plan to. I just wish they would let us go directly to customer service to check out rather than wait on a manager to override their system. It not only inconveniences me, but also the paying member behind me. That could easily be solved by letting us checkout at the service desk.

I agree the “member only” items are becoming a pain. Sort of like Amazons prime only. Im not becoming a member of either and they need to be careful not to run off the large number of people like me.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

The lines at Customer Service at the location I frequent are generally long & slow moving. I wouldn’t want to check out there. Often it wouldn’t even work logistically. There are 2 long lines to the relatively narrow store exit. These lines generally start where Customer Service ends (or are even longer). The line to Customer Service begins slightly before the store exit & snakes around by the store entrance. Yes, exiting (& sometimes entering) the store is a mess.

The lines at the Cashiers are sometimes long (interfering/blocking shopping areas), but generally move quickly. I’m ‘guessing’ though that they might intentionally slow the Cashiers when the exit lines back up behind near all the registers. The 2 receipt inspectors at the exit have always been nice friendly people, however unlike the cashiers the exit inspectors are quite slow & create the bad bottlenecks. My guess is it’s not their fault, but probably reflects poor management that makes them fear any potential mistake.

I also don’t subscribe to Amazon Prime. Never have.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Incorrect, as I responded to a (now edited) comment of RJ from the September forum whereupon I requested a coupon for the frozen kirkland pizzas. So while it appeared rather benign to you, it was actually a personal attack on me (calling me a ‘jerk’ for merely requesting a coupon for frozen kirkland pizza), along with an unrelated attack against Costco.

Calling a previous responder a jerk for requesting a coupon is indeed a personal attack, regardless of how many times you deny it. Not an attack against you, but rather the person that responded.

          • RJ says:

The only person that’s nuts here is in your mirror.
I’m not a mental health pro but I think seeing one would help you.
Of course, you would have to admit your issues and its clear you are In denial.
Its nice of you to stand up for Costco against my “attacks”.
            LOL
This all started because I made what I thought was a light hearted joke about them raising their prices on the pizza to offset the coupon.
Publix, does that fairly regularly for their BOGO deals. I shop at Publix a lot because its 2 miles from the house while Costco is 30. But only for BOGO deals. Their BOGO has better than Costco prices usually without having to buy huge quantities.
But, so far, Costco has the best price on baby aspirin. Only issue for me is I end up taking expired pills for 3-4 months.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

Safeway, Lucky etc BOGOF deals aren’t usually real either. When there’s a good sale buying 2 is usually cheaper than the BOGOFs.

On most items, cherry-picking sales at supermarkets & drugs stores & stocking up is cheaper than COSTCO. Otherwise COSTCO is cheaper & often comes close (but not equal to) the best sales at other stores.

COSTCO is especially good for food court (Polish/Drink, BBQ Brisket, Berry Sundae), roasted chickens, paper plates, toilet tissue/wipes, medical sanitary gloves, many high quality OTC supplements, Samsung TVs, & occasional deals on clothing items. Also good for a slice or two of pizza to be eaten on the spot (not very good to drive home with or without reheating). Definitely not impressed by their produce prices or computers (to combine totally different areas in one sentence LOL).

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

I think that if you’re actually that rankled by someone else asking for a coupon for a particular item, you should seriously consider getting help.
Now why don’t you go eat a little sample cup of yogurt and leave your gross spoon and paper cup in the cart to really ‘stick it to the man’.

          • RJ says:

Can you quit posting for a week ? I think it might be healthy for you.
I’m willing to wager you cant/wont do it.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Why don’t you go return your ten year old vacuum cleaner? it might make you feel better about Costco.

          • RJ says:

you really are in need of mental health professionals. That’s not an insult. Its reality.
Or if you prefer, give me your address. We can settle this in person.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Nice to see how horrifically unhinged you are. I think you should go ahead and defect to Sams Club. I and other Costco members go to Costco to get away from your type.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

COSTCO is a better choice than “Sams”. By the way, why are you a “member(s)” P.Nile (as opposed to using Gift Cards? Perhaps donate the savings to a reputable charity?

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

            Why shouldn’t I be a member?

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

            To save $$ P.Nile.

You buy COSTCO Gift Cards while you’re a member, or you have a friend who is a member buy the Gift Cards for you (or there are even online sites selling them though often not competitively). Then you shop at COSTCO using the GCs & no membership fee is required. Only difference is the GCs do not work for online members only items.

Best to buy the GCs in small denominations because a GC with even .01+ (a penny or more) remaining on it can be used to make any amount purchase in store without a membership (you just pay the difference in cash).

You are occasionally delayed in store for a minute when they sometimes call a supervisor who tries to sell you the needless membership. You can just ignore them (they get the idea) or say no or no thank you.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

sounds like a lot of hassle. We’re already getting $$$ back each year from our Costco citi visa.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

I understand RJ how you’d be irked by P.Nile’s attacks, however the “settle this in person” is not appropriate (especially not when directed at her mental health issues)?

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

You keep yours that long P.Nile? What’s the brand & model #? Do you have a very small living space (like a shipping container) or you just don’t mind dust etc? However if your issue is physical disability, perhaps there are community services from government or places of worship that can assist you? Does COSTCO have any community service programs that associates volunteer time to?

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

if you take care of it, it’ll last that long. What do physical disabilities have to do with any of this?

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

Perhaps if you have a physical disability P.Nile that prevents you from vacuuming as frequently as is needed.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

oh, I get it–now you’ve devolved into jokes about physical disabilities.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

No P.Nile, you don’t “get it” at all. “Physical disabilities” are not “jokes”.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Then kindly stop joking about it.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

Enough of you P.Nile. Feel free to reply if you choose to & have the ‘last word’. I won’t reply to you further in this thread. I don’t feel it would be of service.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

incidentally this was the exchange from the February coupon book discussion. I’m about 99.9% certain a post is deleted because my reply makes no sense based on what is left:

[start of disqus from February, as seen 6/2/17]
RJ:Cant recall them ever starting so late in a month.
My reply:We buy a lot of those same cheese pizzas (over the last 6 months or so). I’ve never seen a coupon for them (at least not in the last 6 months).
[end of disqus from February, as seen 6/2/17]

And from this, RJ feels compelled to announce that I’m a jerk, as well as expressing doubt that Costco would refrain from jacking up prices.

Note that prior to this month, I’ve never seen a coupon for the kirkland frozen pizzas, which are the only ones we buy from Costco (other than an occasional hot pizza to go).

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

P.Nile, you’re the only one here whose content demonstrates being “rankled”.

Also note that we should create more jobs & Make America Great Again. Cleaning your own cart or Food Court table takes away paid jobs from people who need them. (It’s also silly to both clean the table both before & after use, vs simply before). COSTCO should also keep the outside of their trash containers (customer touch/contact areas) clean, or better yet replace them with top (not side) opening containers that would flip open by the weight of trash without requiring contact.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

The cart retrievers will still be gainfully employed, whether or not people leave their rubbish in the carts. I’d have no problem lobbying for a top open trash container, as the side openers can be quite gross.

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

If there’s more work to do P.Nile, then more labor hours are needed for current or new employees. Understand that now?

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

You’ve entirely failed to make your case that more hours are needed.

          • RJ says:

My attempt at unsubscribing failed. I’m still getting emails.

The mental state of P. Nile is interesting to say the least. Creating conspiracies where none exist.
I guess I will make one of my quarterly trecks to Costco to pick up some Pizza. I hope they didn’t raise the price.
I still haven’t gotten a cease & desist letter from Costco. LOL
(I’m assuming I would be fairly easy to locate for any attorney)

          • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

I was at COSTCO today. Ordered their $4.99 BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Followed friend’s advice to order it without the cole slaw on it. Worked: there was twice as much (or more meat). (Their slaw is at best only ok, not good slaw so no loss; the slaw is generally dry & has hard pieces from lower core of the cabbage). Needed a fork to pick up & enjoy the overflowing meat!

          • m smit says:

I have seen Costco jack up some prices at coupon time. A fact ! That is rude. Not someone implying it

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

when? what was the pre-coupon price for the item? when did the coupon go into effect, and what was the adjusted price?

I call BS on your story.

      • Ray Manthano says:

Moron? Wonder what your IQ is?

  2. lc says:

I was told Bridgestone tires would be on sale in the Costco June 2017 coupon book, very disappointed to see Michelin on sale again.

    • disqus_wsQKEXwqrw says:

      I prefer Michelin.

    • Dandelion says:

just wait a month or so. I think the tires that are on sale go in 90 day cycles. The tire guys told me the exact time cycle once and it’s not monthly. I love those Bridgestone Ecopias

  3. epieye says:

I don’t like Costco’s new coupon policy. The coupon book was my incentive to shop. I don’t see much reason to go anymore. Short Costco.

    • P. Nile Schwartz says:

What is it about the new coupon policy that would cause you to think this? They still do coupons, so I figure the incentive is the same as before. To me, the latest coupons are one of the stronger ones in a long time.

  4. P. Nile Schwartz says:

can’t wait to break open my package of fishburgers! they look good.

  5. roamer says:

We haven’t been to Costco in awhile. I’ve read about the new “coupon book” topic but I’m confused. Do we now have to show a coupon for every single item that’s listed in the coupon book/ad? I see no actual “coupons” so I’m assuming that all the items featured need a coupon? …so I either have to show the ap on my phone or the hard copy of the ad for each item I purchase in the ad or I don’t get the discount? What a hassle that is!! Lines at the register will only be longer. Thanks for anybody who can answer.

    • RJ says:

You don’t need actual coupons. Its really an automated discount (except for sales tax) for the sale period.
If you don’t go regularly, you should cancel your membership. (after buying some gift cards)
Gift cards get you in the door without a membership.

      • *Indepenent-Free-Thinker* says:

Agree there’s little to no benefit in paying membership fee (basically a few online member only items). Even if you go regularly you can use Gift Cards.

Anyone can get in the door by just saying you’re going to Pharmacy (doesn’t require membership or Gift Card for purchase). In many states, same applies for Liquor purchases. Food Court you can use cash without membership. Other purchases you’d need a Gift Card with at least a penny on it (rest you can supplement cash).

Best strategy is to have a member buy for you (or buy a membership & then refund it) many small amount Gift Cards for future use.

Thanks so much for the responses. Yes, we’ve thought about discontinuing our membership but we usually have at least one big/major purchase a year and when we are at our summer residence which has a Costco nearby, we seem to go about once a week so we figure it’s worth carrying a membership nonetheless. It’s just that we haven’t been to Costco for several months and noticed that the coupon books no longer have actual “coupons” so were wondering what they now require to receive the prices in the “coupon book.” We assumed that we’d actually have to show the book (or the app) at the register for any item featured in the book. Thanks again.

One complaint I have about my store is the coupon books are not available at the entrance. I have to walk over to the service desk to get them.
The store probably doesn’t want them left all over the store but the upside is, it probably slightly increases sales.
This will probably be considered defamation against Costco by our resident whackjob.

figures the resident loser RJ can’t go one day without falling back into name-calling and whining. Why don’t you just stay away, since Costco will just jack up the prices on the things you want to buy?

Oh, and take your cheapskate friend with you. Don’t let the overhead door hit you in the butt on the way out.

          • RJ says:

you just cant let it go can you ? Hell bent on showing everyone how mentally ill you are even after I quit responding to you.
Oh well, I am a loser for responding to you.
Why cant we have an ignore feature here ?

A friend of mine became friendly with P.Nile in order to get her address. Now she picks up homeless people into the back of her pickup truck. Gives them some Costco trail mix or other snack, & then drops them off in front of P.Nile’s door & tells them to knock hard & shout the code COSTCO for a whole meal.

          • P. Nile Schwartz says:

whaaaah!!! why don’t you just whine some more and do some more name-calling? why are you here? We can only presume you’re a sam’s club mole.

Ditto for your uber-cheap friend. My god, what a sad cheap sob that guy is. When you spend all your time sponging off of friend and scheming how to avoid a small 60 dollar membership charge (earned back pretty quickly based on purchases), you know you really need to get a life.

        • P. Nile Schwartz says:

No better way to ingratiate yourself with others than to sponge off of those that can actually pay a membership fee!

    • Horowitz Family says:

We’re there every week. They have three kinds of discounted products besides those identified in the coupon book. They have the seasonal and clearance items at the front of the store. There are marked and unmarked discounted products. One has the regular price and the sale price. The other has the sale price but no regular list price. If you’re just looking for discounts off the regular price, you miss the latter.

We also noticed that they also had discounted a number of the products that often show up in the coupon books but were absent from the latest issue.

hilarious seeing resident circle-jerking losers who do nothing but a) complain about costco, b) advise others on how to sponge off of friends to get gift cards to avoid paying membership fees c) call others names d) block their intellectual superiors while claiming to be ‘independent free thinkers’.

More like, ‘pompous, arrogant a-hole’, which would be a better moniker for these sorts of negative losers.

    • Horowitz Family says:

The main benefit is in the credit card. The membership pays for itself. We had a rebate of $115 last year.. The rebate on gas purchases is 4 percent.

      • P. Nile Schwartz says:

Exactly. We charge almost everything on that credit card and get a lot more than 60 bucks back each year. I’d be lying if I said everything at Costco is a great deal, but much of the coupon stuff and a lot of other random things are pretty good deals.
